Repork is a website reporting product. This page explains what this website collects, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: we collect very little, we don’t sell it, and we don’t track you around the web.
What we collect
When you join the dashboard waitlist
We store the email address you give us, plus the website and “I am…” answer if you fill them in, which page you signed up from, and when. We use this only to tell you about Repork, mainly when the dashboard is ready for you to try.
When you check a site
We store the website address you entered, the results of the checks, and when you ran them. Each report gets a private link so you can share it. Anyone with the link can see that report, so only share it with people you’d show the results to. Reports, and the PDFs made from them, are deleted automatically after 7 days, and they’re never listed in search engines.
To stop abuse, we limit how many checks one visitor can run in an hour. For that we keep a scrambled, one-way version of your IP address (a salted hash) with the report, not the address itself. The waitlist form keeps a similar hash for one hour to stop spam signups.
What we don’t collect
- No analytics or tracking scripts, and no advertising pixels.
- No cookies for visitors. WordPress only sets cookies for people logged in to manage the site.
- No fonts, icons or scripts loaded from other companies’ servers. Everything on these pages comes from Repork itself.
- No accounts for visitors, and no comments.
Who else sees your information
We don’t sell or rent your information, and we don’t share it for advertising. A few services do take part in running the site:
- Google PageSpeed Insights. When you check a site, we send its web address to Google so it can measure speed and accessibility. Google receives the address you checked, not your email or IP address. Google’s use of that data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
- The website you check. Our checker visits that site the way a browser would, identifying itself as “ReporkCheck”. It only reads public pages.
- Our hosting provider, which stores the site and its database, and keeps standard server logs (such as IP addresses and pages requested) for a short time for security and troubleshooting.
- The law. We’ll share information if we’re legally required to, and only what’s required.
How long we keep it
- Free site reports: 7 days, then deleted.
- Waitlist signups: until the dashboard launches and we’ve invited you, or until you ask us to remove you, whichever comes first.
- Spam-protection hashes: one hour for the waitlist, and as long as the report for site checks.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete anything we hold about you, including taking you off the waitlist or deleting a report you created. Email [email protected] and we’ll reply within 30 days. Every email we send about Repork will also have an unsubscribe link.
Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR (in the EU and UK) or state privacy laws in the US give you these rights formally. We extend them to everyone. Where the GDPR applies, our legal basis is your consent for the waitlist, and our legitimate interest in providing and protecting the free checker. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Repork is a tool for website owners and isn’t aimed at children under 16. We don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
When Repork changes what it collects, for example when the dashboard launches with accounts, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects people on the waitlist, we’ll email them.
